I bought this model of TV in January of 2005 for $2000. And it has been a great television. Over six years later and still going strong. I use it for viewing high definition movies and playing video games on both PS3, andthe Xbox 360.
The only issue which happened about 3 months ago is the left side speaker blew. This really isn't much of an issue since I have an auxiliary surround sound system anyway. A downfall of this television too is that it only had one hdmi input, so I had to spend $60 on a hdmi switch.
Although it is only 720, it still has decent enough video, and for the price they are asking, I think u will be happy (A long as you aren't expecting the quality of the latest and greatest showcase floor model you just saw at best buy) I also feel I should mention that I have never experienced any permanent burn-in.
